Walk with San guides and learn how one of Africa's oldest cultures lives from the land.
The San, often called Bushmen, are among the oldest cultures in Africa, and their knowledge of plants, animals and tracking in the Kalahari is remarkable. A number of community projects in Namibia and Botswana invite visitors to spend time with San guides.
A typical experience is a bush walk on which the guides show how they find water and food, make fire and use plants as medicine, followed by traditional crafts or song. Several lodges in the Kalahari offer these walks, and we can arrange visits to community-run living museums further north.
