"The Secret Namibia Team was amazing to work with, giving us a memorable journey throughout Namibia!"
We gave Chrizell a tall task in planning our self drive Namibia trip. She was quick to connect with us and was thorough in understanding our travel requests, as well as lodging requirements. We were late in our request, but somehow, she was able to put together an amazing trip that had all the key places we wanted. The cost she gave us was very reasonable, and the payment process was very easy to complete (not always so easy with African vendors). We received an initial itinerary that we adjusted a couple of times (due to our requests), and Chrizell and Johan sent us updated agendas as the day approached. We were all set!
When we arrived in Windhoek, we were met in the airport by Secret Namibia, and given a packet with maps, hotel vouchers, some animal and bird identification books. We met with our vehicle provider (Samuel), and he explained the how-to's of driving the (brand new!) vehicle. That was great, as we went through even how to change the tire(s) (we had 2 spares). However, thank goodness, we had zero issues with the vehicle, which also had a cooler in the back for items that needed to be kept cool.
The route we were given optimized our time and travel. Accommodations were great to good, though the latter is all that is available in some remote areas we went to (and likely impacted by our late planning). We had an amazing time in all the places we visited, and would not suggesting skipping any of them. We visited Windhoek, Kalahari, Fish Canyon, Klein Aus (wild horses), Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland, Palmwag Etosha NP, and Waterberg. The 3 weeks went very fast, and we truly enjoyed the self driving aspect of the trip. We specifically enjoyed doing the self drive safari in Etosha, where we went where we wanted, as well as stayed as long as we wanted, in the park. Fish River Canyon, Sossusvlei (you gotta climb Big Daddy Dune, and then the rush of going down it!), and Kalahari also stood out for us.
Watchouts on the trip are the number and locations of gas stations, lots of unpaved roads (we enjoyed this actually), and poor cell/wifi coverage in remote areas (which is to be expected). We actually had some wifi coverage in our vehicle, which was really helpful!
We have already recommended Secret Namibia to friends who have inquired. The excellent service, the freedom of self driving, and excellent pricing, make them an easy referral for us!

"Dream Honeymoon Thanks To Secret Namibia"
Our honeymoon in Namibia was a dream come true, thanks to Secret Namibia.
Everything was flawlessly planned, from the smooth transfers between our lodges to the personalized suggestions for the best activities.
Johan ensured we had a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation, whether it was exploring the dunes or unwinding in the peaceful, romantic settings.
The communication throughout was exceptional, making us feel completely at ease. After all the wedding events we really needed to just switch off and the whole trip was awesome- better than we could have imagined.
We’re already discussing returning for our anniversary as we've heard about a combined safari they offer that includes a visit to Vic falls.
We’ll definitely be booking with Secret Namibia again! Huge Thanks.
"Superb Family Safari. Service & Support Outstanding."
Took the family on a safari to Namibia this summer and it completely exceeded our expectations. After doing a lot of research online, SecretNamibia stood out as the best option for families, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. Johan and his team made sure every detail was covered, and from the moment we booked, it was clear we were in expert hands.
Travelling with our two children, we were looking for a balance of adventure and comfort, and SecretNamibia delivered exactly that. They arranged everything, from the brilliant lodges to the smooth transitions between locations, making the entire trip effortless. Namibia is an unbelievably beautiful country, and each part of our journey brought something new.
In Etosha National Park, the wildlife was amazing – seeing lions, elephants, and giraffes up close was a dream come true, especially for the kids. But it wasn’t just the game drives that made the trip so memorable. SecretNamibia organised a range of activities that catered to the whole family, including guided nature walks and a special helicopter flight over the Namib Desert. Watching the sunrise over the dunes from above was absolutely breathtaking.
Our stay at the NamibRand Nature Reserve was a highlight, where we were able to relax and take in the landscapes. The combination of adventure and pure luxury made it feel like a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Johan’s expertise and care in planning meant we were able to focus on enjoying every moment. Unlike other tour organisers, Secret Namibia are also based in Namibia which put us massively at ease in case anything went wrong (it didn't!).
If you’re thinking of a family safari, you'll be really taken care of with SecretNamibia. They made sure every part of our trip was extra special, and we left Namibia with about a million photos and memories we’ll cherish forever! 10/10 experience!

"Perfectly planned, Perfectly executed - Thank You Secret Namibia!"
Just back from the most amazing 12 days in Namibia and it couldn't have been more perfect! Secret Namibia sorted everything and I mean everything. They suggested the perfect mix of places - we did Etosha (saw so many elephants!), the Skeleton Coast (feels like another planet), and Damaraland which was just stunning.
The lodges were out of this world - we're talking private pools overlooking waterholes, the comfiest beds ever, and the most delicious food we've ever had abroad. Hard to choose a favourite lodge but if you're staying in Sossusvlei, highly recommend Desert Lodge- there's a private observatory for stargazing that was absolutely magical. This was packaged as a luxury tour and it didn't disappoint, everywhere we went the service was fantastic. All our guides were brilliant, always seemed to know exactly where the wildlife would be and they were full of fascinating stories.
I can't say enough good things about Christell, our travel consultant, who was always really quick to reply and nothing seemed too much trouble - she even changed things around three times until we were 100% happy! Before we left, she sent us the most detailed itinerary I've ever seen - we knew exactly what to expect each day. She even thought of things we wouldn't have even considered and totally made us feel at ease.
If you're thinking about a safari, honestly just book it - this was a genuine once-in-a-lifetime experience! Worth every penny for the five-star treatment we had and can only say brilliant things about Secret Namibia- they really seem to care about giving you the best possible holiday.

"Fantastic Service. Wouldn't book with anyone else!"
What an incredible experience we had exploring Namibia! From the moment we started planning the trip with Johan, we knew we were in good hands. He really listened to what we wanted to see and experience, and put together an absolutely perfect two-week itinerary.
The lodges and camps they organised for me and my partner were all top-notch. We stayed in so many luxurious places in Etosha, Damaraland and Swakopmund and could not fault any of them. The service was outstanding and if you're worried about the food don't be because it's stunning, some of the best we've had anywhere in the world.
One of the reasons we booked with Secret Namibia is because they seemed to offer so many different activities and we weren't disappointed.
Seeing the desert-adapted elephants in Damaraland was magical, and climibing the dunes of Sossusvlei at sunrise was surreal. Etosha is everything we thought it would be and we spotted everything from lions to massive herds of elephant and zebra. A special mention to the guides as well because they really made the trip and were so knowledgeable and friendly.
The booking process was also effortless and Johan and his team really went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. It was also very reassuring to know that they were available to contact 24/7 on safari and it's clear that this company has lots of experience and incredible connections across Namibia to craft such a seamless high-end experience.
Our only regret is that we never booked for longer as there was still so many places we wanted to explore! Hoping to return to Namibia in the near future and would 1000% book with Secret Namibia again. Fantastic experience.

"First Class Experience With Passionate Namibian Experts"
We've just got back from a 17-day all-inclusive luxury safari with Secret Namibia and the experience was absolutely amazing.
This wasn't our first family safari, having done one in Kenya back in 2018. However, if I'm being honest, the operator we went with then was pretty lacklustre and left a lot to be desired. We wanted to learn from that experience and make sure we got it right this time especially as Namibia is a place we've wanted to visit for a long time.
As soon as we started researching Secret Namibia we knew they'd be a great fit for us. They're based in Namibia which felt like a huge plus as lots of operators we looked at were located in the UK or US. From their reviews it was also clear that they offered a properly bespoke service which was also a big positive- sometimes with the bigger travel companies you feel like 'just another customer' but this definitely wasn't our experience here.
In terms of the safari, it was everything we could wish for and was planned superbly. We started off in Sossusvlei and moved through places like the Skeleton Coast and Kaokoland before finishing up in Etosha. As a family we are daredevils and love adventure/outdoors activities. Throughout the tour we tried everything from quadbiking through to an incredible boating safari. If you get the chance to go on safari here we also highly reccommend the helicopter tours and the nocturnal game drives as it gives you an entirely different perspective on the landscapes and wildlife.
We opted for all inclusive which was a total game changer. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, which meant more time soaking up the sights and sounds of Namibia, more laughter, and more unforgettable memories.
The places we stayed in were just phenomenal too. Luxury in the wild, I’d call it. You’re out there, in the heart of nature, but with all the comforts you could imagine. Mowani Mountain Camp deserves a shout-out. Waking up to those views was something else – just magical!
Big thanks to Secret Namibia for not just planning our trip, but for crafting an adventure that felt tailor-made for us. Can't wait to go back and do it all over again! If you’re looking for a safari company that truly delivers a personal and thrilling experience, these are your folks- they live and breathe Namibia and it absolutely shines through.

"A Safari Dream Come True with SecretNamibia!"
When my partner and I first started thinking about a safari in Namibia, we quickly realised we were a bit out of our depth trying to plan it all ourselves. After doing some research online we found SecretNamibia and honestly it's the best decision we made as they helped us create the greatest trip we've ever been on.
From our very first conversation we felt comfortable and at ease. We had a long video call with Johan and he listened carefully to everything we wanted from our safari. Should we focus more on wildlife viewing or landscapes? Did we want to explore the iconic destinations or some off-the-beaten-path gems? How much travelling were we comfortable with? He asked all the right questions and really understood our vision.
In the end we agreed on a two week luxury fly in safari and it was amazing from start to finish. From the moment we landed in Namibia, everything was impeccably planned out. Our flights and transfers went off without a single delay or hitch. The communications from SecretNamibia were also fantastic - we could reach them any time, day or night, which was really reassuring.
Touching on the lodges, they exceeded our wildest expectations. From the second we arrived at each one, we were treated like royalty. The service, the food, the settings- it was all of the highest possible standard. We felt like every one of our desires was beautifully catered for by the wonderful staff in an environment of total bliss and luxury. A special mention in particular to Omaanda and Shipwreck Lodge which were both out of this world.
The activities SecretNamibia organised were the cherry on top. We'll never forget our hot air balloon ride over the desert. And seeing Etosha, the Sossusvlei dunes and Epupa Falls took our breath away - we took some stunning photos so make sure you bring a quality camera.
We honestly can't thank the SecretNamibia team enough for giving us the trip of a lifetime. We looked at other tour operators, but are so glad we went with these guys. Their personalised service, insight and passion for Namibia blew us away and we felt the trip was worth every penny. Having a local company made everything feel really authentic too.
If you're looking for a luxury Namibian safari, I can't recommend SecretNamibia highly enough. These guys know how to craft unforgettable experiences filled with special memories you'll cherish forever.

"A well planned tour with an operator who really listen to your needs"
Our booking with Secret Namibia was very last minute - we were going to stay with friends in Angola and had an unexpected week free, so decided to visit Etosha. We had very little time to research all the different Safari tour organisers, and settled on Secret Namibia because they had some good reviews, but without knowing much more about them. Something that we liked straight away was being able to make a zoom call to discuss options before making a booking - it can be daunting organising a trip like this on the net from the other side of the world, when you don’t really know who you’re dealing with, so it was great to speak with Chrizell face to face to discuss what we wanted from the trip.
She came up with an initial itinerary for us, then several alternatives (because we weren’t completely sure what we wanted) without any fuss, and all in a very short time before we left.
When we arrived at Windhoek airport Peter was there to greet us with the vehicle, and after a short familiarisation we were on the road. It was our first visit to Namibia, so we didn’t know what to expect, but the roads are very good, well sign posted, and fairly empty, so driving around was easy. The vehicle provided was very comfortable and easy to drive, and with a very welcome fridge in the back. The only real drawback was the satnav - really hard to follow and giving contradictory instructions (not Secret Namibia’s fault - it’s the one that comes with the vehicle, and they’re waiting for an upgrade which may make it more useable). However, there’s a wifi access point included, which worked well whenever there was a 3g signal, which was most of the time. This meant we could use google maps on an iPad, even inside Etosha, so we’d strongly recommend having that with you for the meantime. Secret Namibia also provided a good paper road map in the welcome pack, which came in very useful in the parts of Etosha where there wasn’t a phone signal.
The accommodation was very impressive, and mostly more luxurious than we expected, with some excellent meals as well. We would have happily stayed longer in any of the lodges, but we only had 6 nights so we kept moving on…
One of our party had mobility issues, and uses a walking frame to get around. We’d mentioned this to Chrizell, and she really made sure this got through to the lodges - all the accommodation, including the bathrooms, and where possible the rooms we had were really close to the dining rooms, and had adapted bathrooms where possible. This information doesn’t always get through as you’d want, so hats off to Secret Namibia for making sure it did!
We were visiting in the rainy season, and had read that it can be more difficult to spot wildlife as the vegetation is thicker, and the animals don’t need to congregate around the water holes so much, but we still saw lot of different species, especially in the Eastern part of the park: zebras, giraffes, wildebeest & springbok became almost commonplace, and we also saw lions and a rhino, and a close encounter with herd of elephants, as well as many different bird species.
We really enjoyed ur first visit to Namibia, and hope we can come back one day: if we do, we’d certainly use Secret Namibia again!

"Excellent choices and planning"
Secret Namibia planned a 2 week self drive tour for us through Namibia and it was stunning. We had been in Namibia before to see Etosha and the North and that;s why we asked them to plan us a tour in the southern parts. We went to the Kalahari, Fish River Canyon, the Namib, Swakopmund and one last stop in a Game Reserve in the Erindi area.
It was easily one of our best holidays ever and Christell and Johan made it so easy for us. We literally just had to tell them what we had in mind and they came up with a great itinerary which we could customise to exactly what we wanted. So all we had to do was book our international flights - the rest they organised!
On arrival we were welcomed at the airport and shown to our car and then our dream holiday started :-)

"Exceptional service and planning by Secret Namibia"
This was indeed one of our most memorable holidays ever. The itinerary Secret Namibia created for us was well planned and fitted perfectly with our style of travel. We booked a luxury fly-in safari to Sossusvlei (Little Kulala), Skeleton Coast Shipwreck Lodge & Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp), Damaraland (Onduli Ridge), Hartmann Valley (Serra Cafema) and Etosha (Camp Kala). All of these destinations and luxury camps offered an experience that can be found nowhere else on earth.
The communication and level of professionalism from Secret Namibia was unmatched, they were always ready to answer any questions we had. Our safari was planned and booked within 7 days, it was a last minute decision to travel to Namibia due to other holidays plans being cancelled.
It was an expensive holiday, but still great value for money.
We would love to revisit Namibia again in the near future.

"Reliable, transparent and exceptionally attentive"
Secret Namibia listened and understood perfectly what we were after from day one, and captured it accordingly in their proposal. Communication was smooth all the way through, they were easy to reach before, during or after our trip, fast to respond and always very clear, uncomplicated.
During our trip they made the extra effort to check in with us from time to time in a non-intrusive way and make sure everything is going well. And when something minor did go awry, which is in the nature of things, they immediately sorted it for us in a way that it had no impact on our holiday at all. Even offered to pick up a new spare wheel for us themselves when one of our tyres burst en route to Swakopmund so that we can use this time to visit Sandwich bay instead.
The places booked for us were all high quality and friendly, catering well for our 4 year old as well, whom we were travelling with. The itinerary was well balanced in terms of drive/stay time and a good pace for a family with a small child. The little favour that awaited us on arrival was a nice touch to the already well prepared trip. Especially hit the right spot with our son, who would not go anywhere without his new scorpio torch and memory game for the rest of the trip.
We usually don't use agents for our travels, however, this time we left the planning so late that we were really struggling with availability. This is how we found Secret Namibia as a last shot and they delivered beyond our expectations. We will no doubt rely on them again to help organize our next trip to Botswana!

"Stellar Operator. Wonderful family holiday in Namibia."
This company planned our entire holiday, the communication was excellent at all times and answered all our questions within hours. Their expert opinions ensured that we ended up with a unique itinerary, completely different from the other options we received. Johan (the agent we dealt with) took the time to understand what we wanted and proposed the perfect route, taking all our needs and wants into consideration. We did a 17 day flying safari to Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Skeleton Coast and Etosha. Each location was special in it's own way, the diversity of Namibia blew me away and was exactly what we needed. The temperatures was warm to hot in the day, but started cooling down in the afternoon, making for wonderful sunset game drives and nature experiences. Our favourite spot was Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp, we spent 3 nights and did not want to leave. Great country and people.

"Secret Namibia will work with you to create your perfect tour!"
Our family (of four) had the most amazing 2 week holiday thanks to Secret Namibia.
From the outset Secret Nambia set themselves apart from other operators that we contacted by offering to have a zoom call with us to talk about our tour and to find out what we wanted. It was very much a collaborative effort to get the perfect tour for us. Johan and Chrizell were very patient with the numerous questions we had and always gave helpful and practical advice and suggestions. We were relatively late in making our booking, but Johan still managed to secure us accommodation in some wonderful lodges while being mindful of giving us the right amount of time in each place and the distances we had to travel between each lodge. The car we had was wonderful – spacious, comfortable, and very reliable.
We were given a lot of information and recommendations for the various activities in each location and Secret Namibia were happy to organise these, but equally happy for us to make our own arrangements directly with the lodges.
The tour we did was the classic tour that we found most people doing (with the odd variation): Windhoek, Kalahari, Sossusvlei, Namib Naukluft, Swakopmund, Damaraland, Etosha, Otjiwa and back to Windhoek, but we found it very useful to work with Johan to make sure we had a good balance and not too hectic a pace. We realised after our holiday just how spot on he was with his itinerary!
Secret Namibia were a pleasure to deal with throughout the whole process and it was reassuring to have their support. We were met by Peter from Secret Namibia on our arrival which was a lovely welcome. Our luggage was delayed on the outward flight and Peter took care of dealing with the ground staff at the airport to make sure it was delivered to us the next evening at our lodge 4 hours away. We were very grateful to him!
We would thoroughly recommend Secret Namibia to anyone wishing to plan a holiday in Namibia. We feel sure you will find them friendly, helpful and expert in helping you plan your ideal itinerary.

"Best Country and the best operator"
Secret Namibia's team went above and beyond with ensuring that our safari was nothing short of amazing.
They always responded promptly and with profesionalism and expert knowledge.
The service we received beforeand during our safari was also excellent.
Namibia is not a cheap country to travel, but the value we received was extremely good.
Secret Namibia is a reliable operator that takes the time to know their client, and will ensure that the itinerary they create will match your expectations and needs.
Namibia is a country like no other. It is safe, the locals are friendly and they are all very proud of their country. The lodges and reserves are also fantastic and unique in their own ways.
The landscapes are like nothing you have ever seen.
If you are on the fence about going to Namibia you should get off right now and book your trip.
Note: Make sure to book early, the lodges have limited rooms and get booked up well in advance.

"Excellent destination and operator"
We booked our last-minute trip through Secret Namibia. We were already in South Africa and decided to spend 2 weeks in Namibia at the end of our holiday. We received excellent service from the team, and the lodges they suggested to us were also a perfect fit for us as a family. The consultant we dealt with was professional and was always available during our trip to assist with special requests (we are high maintenance travellers). I will give them 5 stars any day of the week. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Namibia and I hope to return in the near future.
Be sure to include Ongava and Onguma in your itineraries if you visiting Etosha! They are both excellent.
I just wish we had more time in each place, there's so much to see and do,
Overall experience with SECRET NAMIBIA and the safari experience was out of this world.

"Amazing Luxury Safari Experience with Outstanding Support & Service"
Can't recommend SecretNamibia highly enough the support and service we received from minute one was outstanding.
I'd been wanting to organise a safari getaway with my family for quite a while but this year was the first time we could realistically make it happen. I initially got in touch with SecretNamibia late last year and right from the first contact I knew we had chosen the right tour operator.
Friendly, professional and so quick to answer your questions, Johan and the team planned a magical family itinerary for us that included visits to all of Namibia's most famous landmarks including the Sossusvlei dunes and of course the incredible Etosha National Park. However, more impressively we were taken to some of the 'lesser known gems' during our safari, spots in Damaraland and the Skeleton Coast, and this really enriched our trip. (For those that don't know SecretNamibia are actually based in Namibia which we felt was a big plus as they would have boots on the ground knowledge of the best places to explore).
Whenever you travel with kids you want everything to run smoothly and SecretNamibia went above and beyond to cater to our needs and asked so many questions about our tastes and preferences so they could put together the perfect itinerary. We stayed in some absolutely amazing luxury lodges, many of which had private plunge pools and viewing decks so you could really make the most of the epic views. We opted for all inclusive as we viewed this as a once in a lifetime trip and the food was amazing throughout, consisting of a mixture of European classics, dishes with South African influence and Namibian favourites.
Travelling from A to B whilst we were over there was effortless and everything was impeccably planned. In terms of the activities there's so much to see and do and SecretNamibia put forward plenty of options. During our safari we did pretty much everything including plenty of game drives but the highlight was the hot air balloon ride which is an experience we will never forget.
All in all if you're looking for a luxury safari tour operator that are flexible, helpful and will go the extra mile you won't be disappointed. Thanks so much guys for all your support! 10/10
"Probably the best trip we've ever had!"
Communication : Johan always responded to any questions within minutes when we were in Namibia
Service: When there was a sandstorm seen from space and we had to change around our plans and relocate - We were given a great option protected from the storm. Secret Namibia managed to relocate us a send storm free area within hours an unbelievable service.
Value for Money: It was an expensive holiday but we got what we payed for.
Reliability: Impeccabile.
Tour Itself: The Tour itself was well planned and well balanced - Felt like we had seen everything by the time we had left
Being a perfectionist and person of great detail, I usually plan every detail of a holiday myself - on this occasion I choose Secret Namibia to select and implement the entire trip for my family. It could not have been better - They thought of every detail and exceeded all expectations.

"Very knowledgeable and helpful"
I'll start off by saying that the service we received from Secret Namibia was out of this world. They were always super fast with their responses and their knowledge on the destinations and lodges were spot on.
Every little detail was taken care of, we did not have to think about anything during our safari. They also go the extra mile with the care package they put together for us, it's almost as if they knew exactly who we are. As far as luxury tour operators go, I'd say Secret Namibia is one of the best I have dealt with.
We did a 16 day fly-in safari visiting the following places and lodges.
Sossusvlei / Little Kulala - absolutely amazing
Swakopmund / Strand Hotel (do the Sandwich Harbour Tour)
Damaraland / Onduli Ridge - do the 3 night stay to get the full experience, totally worth it.
Skeleton Coast / Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp - have to rate this as one of the best places I've stayed at in the world, and the experiences they have on offer is unforgettable.
Kaokoland / Serra Cafema - Initially we were not going to go so far north, but our safari consultant insisted that we go and it ended up being our 2nd favourite place of the entire safari.
Etosha / Camp Kala - Its a new lodge and the attention to detail was excellent, the game viewing was also much better than in many other game parks in southern Africa.
The food at all the lodges was also extremely good. They also cater for guests with various dietary requirements. (my partner is Vegan)
We are already considering doing another trip to Namibia, the country has so much to offer and if you are on the fence about going to Namibia, get off and go, you will not be disappointed.
"Extremely helpful, fast response on queries and good knowledge of all the tours & lodges."
We were celebrating my mother's 80th birthday and I decided to spoil her with a luxury tour of Namibia. Lourens was so helpful in selecting the correct lodge for us, helped us with the best scenic route to take, what to pack, and even organized activities for us.
The entire process from the first introductory email to lodge selection and what to bring was discussed in various face-to-face meetings.
They were always available if I had a query and informed the lodge that we were celebrating a special event.
It was a truly amazing experience and we both felt that we had the best time in the most wonderful and luxurious lodges.

So lovely working with Secret Namibia on our recent family travel with 6 of us. Johan was the best and spent so much time looking for a trip that catered to what we wanted instead of trying to fit us into a pre-arranged "package". I would highly recommend him and the company if you want to have a great experience. We started in Sossusvlei climbing Big Daddy, then headed up to Hoanib Valley Camp in Kaokoland. This place was fantastic especially if you really want to enjoy a more remote experience. Then on to Etosha, Impalia Island in the Caprivi and ended our trip on the Zambia side of Victoria Falls. Everything was arranged so well by Johan, that we just enjoyed every minute with no cares. I even forgot my camera sid cards in Etosha and they arranged to get them to me in Impalia Island (opposite sides of the country). Loved the people and places and we will be back and work with Secret Namibia again.
"Outstanding Luxury Safari Travel Company"
Me and my wife have just returned from a two week safari that we booked with SecretNamibia and wow what an incredible luxury experience!
My wife recently celebrated her 40th birthday and I wanted to surprise her with something special as neither of us had ever been on a safari before despite the fact that we absolutely love travelling.
I found SecretNamibia online after researching quite a few different travel companies and I'm so glad we chose them. They are actually based in Namibia which was a really big plus for us and I prefer booking with smaller independent travel companies because I feel that you tend to get a better level of service.
Initially we weren't sure whether to choose a guided safari or a fly in safari but in the end we opted for a fly in tour given that this would give us a little more time to visit more of Namibia, especially the northern regions that are a bit more remote. What an amazing decision! The views as we flew over the Sossusvlei in particular are something that we will cherish forever and I was surprised by how easy and simple it was to actually board the private flight transfers.
Given this was a special birthday treat I wanted to make sure we stayed in some really luxurious lodges and the accommodation that SecretNamibia organised was spectacular. As part of our itinerary we stayed in Onguma The Fort which was magnificent and the food/hospitality was amazing. All our lodges were special and an honourable mention has to go to Little Kulala as well.
During the booking process you are asked about the type of activities you'd like to experience. As me and my wife are real wildlife and adventure lovers we wanted to make sure we'd get to enjoy plenty of game drives and we did just that. We also loved the immersive bush walks and the desert-adapted elephant tracking was so fun. In our second week we even went on a hot air balloon ride at sun rise which was a real highlight. There is so much you can do and SecretNamibia are very flexible when they put together your itinerary- our only regret is that we didn't stay a few days longer.
All in all we can't thank SecretNamibia enough for helping to make our trip so special from start to finish. The level of service we received was truly exceptional and the extra touches like the luxury safari care package we were given when we arrived was really appreciated. Logistically, everything was so well organised and went off without a hitch. Highly recommend this luxury travel company and will definitely be booking another trip in the not too distant future hopefully!
