Dinner around the fire under the stars, the way a safari day should end.
A boma is an open-air enclosure, traditionally built from branches or reeds, and at a safari lodge it is where guests gather around the fire for dinner. After a day on the road or out on game drives, it is the natural place to share sightings and stories.
Many of the lodges and camps we use serve dinner in the boma on clear evenings, sometimes with a braai, Namibia's word for a barbecue, or songs from the staff. In the desert, the fire soon gives way to one of the best night skies you will ever see.
