Big cat conservation at Okonjima, between Windhoek and Etosha.
The AfriCat Foundation was founded at Okonjima in the early 1990s to help conserve Namibia's large carnivores, especially cheetah and leopard, and to reduce conflict between predators and farmers. Its work covers research, rehabilitation and education.
Staying at Okonjima gives you the chance to learn about this work and to track cheetah, leopard or hyena that live wild in the Okonjima Nature Reserve. It is an easy stop on the way north to Etosha.
