Okaukuejo and the classic waterholes near the Andersson Gate.
The southern side of Etosha is reached through the Andersson Gate and is home to Okaukuejo, the park's oldest rest camp, with its famous floodlit waterhole. The open plains and busy waterholes nearby, such as Okondeka, Nebrownii and Gemsbokvlakte, are among the best game viewing areas in the park.
Just outside the gate, private reserves such as Ongava have lodges that offer guided drives in the park and on their own land. It is the most convenient part of Etosha when driving up from the south or from Damaraland.
