Etosha East

The quieter side of Etosha, around Namutoni and Fischer's Pan.

About

Etosha East at a glance

The eastern side of Etosha National Park is centred on Namutoni, with its whitewashed fort, and the waterholes around Fischer's Pan. It tends to be greener and quieter than the south, with good sightings of elephant, giraffe and plains game, and the tiny Damara dik-dik in the thicker bush.

Guests stay in the park at Namutoni or at the private lodges just outside the Von Lindequist Gate, several of them on reserves of their own. Many itineraries enter from the east and leave through the Andersson Gate in the south, crossing the park in between.
