Desert elephants, lions and the Skeleton Coast from a remote valley camp.
Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp sits in a broad valley where two tributaries of the Hoanib River meet, on the edge of the Skeleton Coast National Park.
The river brings desert-adapted elephant, giraffe and lion into the valley, and the camp supports the researchers who study them. A full-day excursion follows the Hoanib to the Atlantic, with its seals, shipwreck remains and dunes running into the sea.
