We don’t waste any time on this camping safari. Upon arrival in Windhoek we will get you going in no time to your first destination which is about 3-4 hours from Windhoek. So if your arrival flight is only in the afternoon we will have to add a night in Windhoek to your itinerary.

Once you have your vehicle you will need to go stock up on some supplies for your road trip. After that its time to hit the road. Your first destination is Anib Campsite just outside Marienthal. Once you are here you can just relax after setting up camp or you can go on a nature walk where you could spot some animals and birds. There is also a pool at reception if you fancy going for a swim. Take it easy tonight as there is a long but pleasant drive ahead of tomorrow.

Optional Activities:
E-Biking, Guided Dune Walks, Nature Drives, Self-guided Hiking Trails

Today’s drive is 410km and will take you between five and six hours to complete, depending on how many stops you make on the way to Hobas campsite within the Fish River National Park. Activities at Hobas include scenic drives, Mountain Biking and Hiking. Note that day visitors are prohibited from hiking down into the canyon. Visit on of the viewpoints for sundowners and get that magical sunset photograph of the Fish River Canyon. Return to your campsite and spend the rest of the evening relaxing around the camp fire with a drink and listening to the sounds of nature.

Wake up before sunrise to drive back to the viewpoint to watch the sunrise. The shades of orange and red that fill the canyon just after sunrise is truly spectacular. Slowly start making your way to Namibrand which is about 430km from here and will take about six to seven hours of driving, depending on how many stops you make on the way. Once here, you will check in at the Namibrand Family Hideout campsite. It is located inside the Namibrand nature reserve and has some fun activities to take part in. Namibrand is notorious for stargazing and has been designated a Gold tier International Dark Sky Reserve by the International Dark Sky Association.

Optional Activities:
Educational Desert Walks, Bird and Game Viewing, Educational Desert Walks, Self Guided Nature Drives, Dune-Boarding

You will be happy to hear that there won’t be much driving today. Your next destination, Sossusvlei is only about 100km from Namibrand. This means that you can spend your morning relaxing or doing some of the available activities in the reserve. At Sossusvlei we have chosen the Sesriem campsite because it is located within the National park which means you can drive to the world famous Deadvlei before the gates open.

Optional Activities:
Hot Air Ballooning, Scenic Drives, Sesriem Canyon Walk, Horse Rides, Deadvlei Guided Walk, Helicopter Flights

After spending the day in Sossusvlei you will make your way towards the coastal town of Swakopmund, the adventure capital of Namibia. The drive to Swakopmund will take about five to six hours. These desert landscape and scenery will change regularly and become more flat and bare as you get closer to the coast. You will be staying at Windpomp 14 campsite on the beach, it is about 20km out of town. Swakopmund is a great place to stock up on supplies before heading north towards Damaraland and Etosha. There are plenty of half day and full day tours to do while you are in Swakopmund.

Catamaran Dolphin Cruise, Skeleton Coast Scenic Flights, Guided Township Tour, Guided Town Tour, Hot Air Ballooning, Surf Fishing, Deep Sea Fishing, Skeleton Coast Tours, Dune Rides, Quad Biking, Camel Rides, Skydiving, Moon Landscape Tours and many more.

After cooling down in Swakopmund you will head back inland on your way towards Etosha. In Damaraland you will be camping at White Lady Lodge campsite, here you can track desert elephants and lions. You can also go explore the rock paintings, which there is thousands of. You will find locals along the road who are selling precious and semi precious stones, have a look and see if there’s maybe a few that you are drawn to. The drive is only 120km which gives you ample time for stops along the way.

Optional Activities:
Desert Elephant & Lion Tracking, Nature Walks, Scenic Drives & Rock Painting Tours

We saved the best part for last. Your five hour drive from Damaraland to Etosha will be a pleasant one, the scenery will change drastically and the number of animals you see will also increase. Make sure to arrive at your campsite in the early afternoon so you can go on a game drive before sunset. You can either venture into the park on your own or book a guided game drive. A wildlife fiesta awaits in Etosha, if you are lucky you might even see some predators.

Optional Activities:
Guided Game Drives, Scenic Drives, Nature Walks

Your whole day will be spent driving through Etosha National Park. You will be stopping at various watering holes where you will be able to sit and watch the animals coming out of the salts pans and bushes for water. It is only 150km to the western side of Etosha, but the drive will take much longer due to all the stopping along the way.

Today you can wake up early and drive to one of the watering holes to do some more game viewing before heading back to Windhoek. The drive to Windhoek will take you about six hours, so be sure to leave at around 10:00. Your last evening will be spent at Windhoek Luxury Suites.
